Kohler’s Bakery has been a fixture in Avalon for 61 years.Â
Walking in their store is like a trip back in time…the old fashioned display cases and familiar smells. Sticky buns (and sometimes crumb cake or donuts) were a Sunday tradition throughout my childhood.
Glad to welcome them back for another summer season.  Enjoying a cream donut as I write this post!
The beach grooming machines are back with their early morning routine.
Yes, the winter was tough. And doesn’t it seem like spring has flown by? Now we are just 3 weeks away from Memorial Day weekend.Â
With the sunset close to 8pm, there’s ample opportunity for an evening beach stroll.   The fading sun casts interesting shadows on the sand; and the ocean/ sky turn various shades of pink.
Looking for new ways to promote our summer rental inventory. Â The 2010 rentals were off to a strong start in January and February, but we still have availability in all shapes and sizes.
The weather along the coast can be so different than just a few miles inland (or as we say, “off shore”).
Great turn out  for the annual Boat Show/Seafood Festival according to organizers. Local residents, summer home owners, and visitors to the island enjoyed food, music, and checking out the boats and other vendors along 96th Street.Â
