Month: June 2015

  • Osprey

ospreyOn my beach walks, I am able to observe the “ultimate hunters” at work- the osprey.

I watch them dive into the ocean, emerge with a fish securely in their talons, and then fly overhead toward the marsh.

The “ultimate scavengers” (seagulls) follow close behind- just in case the fish manages to wiggle free!

and to view the Osprey Cam, visit the Wetlands Institute web site.

  • Avalon Beach Fill Update

The Borough of Avalon web site:  Beach Fill Update

Once the Strathmere project is complete, the dredge will move to Avalon.  We should see activity on our north end beaches by the weekend.

  • Under the Dome?

The sea breeze is often credited for preventing “weather” from ruining a beach day.  Must be the case again today.

Rain all around…but not in Avalon or Stone Harbor  🙂
