 Moderate temperatures, but a foggy day at the shore. Hopefully, the moisture will help with my allergies/cough.
There is a boat show in Stone Harbor all weekend- 96th Street- with food vendors and music to enjoy as you dream of summer days on the water 🙂

Stone Harbor Mayor Suzanne Walters said the Borough will need a replenishment project, hopefully in the fall. The Borough is seeking state funding for 75% of a beach replenishment, which will likely cost several million dollars.
The erosion effects 98th through 111th Streets. The beach entrances will be graded to make them accessible.Â
As a side note- I walked that section of beach this morning- at high tide. There is definite damage to the dunes and less dry sand- but the beach is still there.
Noticed last night that “Quahog’s” is open on 97th Street (just off Second Avenue in the old Tri-Jo’s building).  The owners, who also own Sea Salt on 83rd and Third Avenue, renovated the space over the winter. I heard it will be a casual seafood/clam shack with take- out available. Anxious to give it a try.
  
 The storm last weekend caused some beach erosion in the south end of Stone Harbor (getting on the beach is much easier than climbing back up :)  Miscellaneous items washed up along the shore- including this huge buoy!Â
Today is race day- the weather for this event is typically cold and rainy, so this morning’s sun is an added bonus for the participants. But they are running in to a steady wind (ENE 16 to 25mph per the the Weather Channel).  That’s why I’m not an athlete- too much of a wimp!Â
 
 Work is underway to create walking paths through the Bird Santuary located between 111th and 117th Streets in Stone Harbor. The entry point will be 114th and Third Avenue. This project will be funded primarily through private donations.

The bulb flowers in our little yard are doing their best to be out for Easter. The local shops and restaurants have the same plan.
There will be OPEN signs at the Windrift Restaurant, Claude’s in North Wildwood (originally Stone Harbor based- and locals are happy to travel across the bridge for a wonderful meal), Via Mare, and many of 96th Street retail shops.

Did anyone else see the Red Baron style bi-plane practicing stunts over the ocean this weekend? We watched the spins, flips, and free falls as the sun set- a free air show in Stone Harbor!
You know you are ready for spring when it’s exciting to see lights on in houses as you drive through town!
Tortilla Flats and Avalon Coffee are now open on weekends. The Concord Cafe will open next week (we live for the restaurants to return).
Washed off my deck furniture yesterday and actually sat in the sun for a bit (out of the wind of course).
