 Work is underway to create walking paths through the Bird Santuary located between 111th and 117th Streets in Stone Harbor. The entry point will be 114th and Third Avenue. This project will be funded primarily through private donations.

The bulb flowers in our little yard are doing their best to be out for Easter. The local shops and restaurants have the same plan.
There will be OPEN signs at the Windrift Restaurant, Claude’s in North Wildwood (originally Stone Harbor based- and locals are happy to travel across the bridge for a wonderful meal), Via Mare, and many of 96th Street retail shops.

Did anyone else see the Red Baron style bi-plane practicing stunts over the ocean this weekend? We watched the spins, flips, and free falls as the sun set- a free air show in Stone Harbor!
You know you are ready for spring when it’s exciting to see lights on in houses as you drive through town!
Tortilla Flats and Avalon Coffee are now open on weekends. The Concord Cafe will open next week (we live for the restaurants to return).
Washed off my deck furniture yesterday and actually sat in the sun for a bit (out of the wind of course).
 Nothing profound…just another beautiful view as I begin my morning walk. Still wearing a hat and gloves, but the sun was trying to break through. I’m anxious for warmer temperatures…a few more weeks to go!

Random thoughts from my morning walk:
Angry ocean…..Mother Nature speaking her mind (the roar heard from blocks away!)
High tide…..walking in soft sand is great exercise.
Heavy Fog…..quality moisture for dry winter skin.

Cape May County will be building a new public library on the north side of the 95th Street parking area along the beach (the library currently uses space in the municipal building on Second Avenue).Â
Not certain of a start/completion date. Â
    
  Structure will be built adjacent to the beach between 94th and 95th Streets (over a portion of the existing parking lot). The beach patrol building and Woman’s Civic Club buildings are located beach side between 95th and 96th Streets.
Last week, as I drove over the 96th Street bridge, I noticed the back bay was a deep shade of blue.Â
This morning, the ocean was a beautiful blue color, too.Â
Winters at the shore are typically monochromatic: gray skies, gray waterways, and gray sand along the beach. The arrival of color is a true sign of spring!
Interesting facts:  There are 2,125 full time residents in Avalon.  Sea Isle City has 2,949. Stone Harbor (the smallest geographically) has 1,039.
