I’m one of 4 sisters, born within a 6 year span (a fine example of the rhythm method at work!).Â
We were fortunate to be raised at the beach (our summer friends would ask if we had class on the beach instead of inside a school). We made forts in the dunes (sorry- that was wrong) and the back bay was our swimming hole.
We never consider a “beach day” a waste of time- and have passed along our love for the shore to the next generation.
As we face the 1/2 century mark together (gulp), the beach has been our constant. It’s our place to talk, laugh, walk ,and eat snacks without guilt. And, it’s the place that holds our best family memories. Â
A sentimental thought for the January birthday girls…plus the oldest one in the lead since May 🙂

Yes our love of the “Shore†has been passed on. I am already being asked when our summer vacation is. As far as the snacks, I always thought food ate at the beach didn’t count! No calories. Love the picture – why do we always seem to line up in age order – some things never change!
Can’t wait for the warmer weather.
I think the line up dates back to our Easter Sunday pictures…or maybe those taken in front of the cardboard fireplace on Christmas Eve??
I say the girls look pretty good for facing the half century mark – well two of us are facing it, one has it in close view and one is there and then some!
As long as the passing years still continue to be spent sitting on the beach we will survive.
