January Will Always Be January

frozenpipesYes, it’s been mild.  Yes, I’m happy for the reasonable gas bills.  Yes, it’s been great to occasionally wear fewer layers when walking along the beach.

But, it’s January.  And cold temperatures are the norm.

So why are property owners taken by surprise by winter?  Why is their heat turned off…or outside faucets still on?

Hearing about damage from last week’s quick arctic blast.  The combination of freezing temperatures and wind caused exposed pipes to freeze, crack, and then leak while thawing.
