  • Trip to Disney

DisneyIt’s called a “Disney Vacation”…but oh so different than the vacations I help tenants plan here on the island.

    Compare:

    1) A beach chair and a good book; versus sturdy sneakers and guidebook/ maps.

    2) Relaxed schedule and meals on the deck; versus an itinerary with Fast Pass and character meal reservations.

    3) Eating sandwiches under the umbrella at the beach; versus the Hoop De Do Review (if you have gone…you will understand!)

We stayed at the Contemporary – which my husband described as “The Borgata for children”.  Sensory overload!

BUT, boy did we have fun 🙂

By the way, for this extended family trip, we used an Authorized Disney Travel Planner- Gina Vercesi. Gina and her family vacation each summer in Stone Harbor, and we connected through Twitter.  Her web site: inthemousehouse.com

  • Eight Bridges

Sunday, March 30th is the 16th annual Ocean Drive Marathon.

The race starts at 9am in Cape May.

26.2 miles…and 8 bridges later, participants cross the finish line in Sea Isle City.

For more race day information: http://www.odmarathon.org

P.S. There will be road closures in Cape May and Wildwood; and north bound lane restrictions from North Wildwood to Sea Isle City.

  • Sea Glass Yoga?

It was a good morning for treasure hunting along the north end beaches in Avalon (see picture of today’s haul of sea glass).

A long beach walk provides the obvious exercise…plus the bonus of graceful squats and bends picking up, and then rinsing off pieces of sea glass.

When I say “ugh”, I really mean “om” 😉

  • Saturday Sights

Only a “glimpse” of a sunrise this morning.  Temperatures have improved, but the sea breeze is keeping it chilly on the beach.  Overall, not a bad day for the (crazy) Polar Bear Plunge participants in Sea Isle City!

  • Weekend Plans

Someone on Twitter asked about pedestrian access over the Townsends Inlet bridge for the annual Sea Isle City Polar Plunge.  According to a sign posted on the Avalon side of Ocean Drive, pedestrians and bicycles are prohibited.

  • That’s a Wrap

Great holiday weekend on Seven Mile Beach.  Well organized family events in both Avalon and Stone Harbor– with summer like crowds!

    Sunday

  • Picture Perfect

Skip the malls…shop local, and then enjoy a walk along the beach 🙂

If you are in Avalon for Festive Friday, stop by the Power Play Realty office.  We are giving away Tim Kerr Run race t-shirts, and Power Play Realty logo water bottles.

P.S.  We handed out 100’s of t-shirts and water bottles…great turn out!

  • Back on the Beach

Less wind and more sun…yet still VERY cold.  On the plus side?  The moisture in the sand freezes in the winter- turning the soft sand by the dunes (my wind break!) into a more stable walking surface.

  • Solar Eclipse

We were cautious with looking at the sun (used the “selfie” mode of my phone to take a picture during the eclipse).  Either way…a nice morning for a beach walk.
