  • Islandman Triathlon Saturday June 24

It’s that time of year again- The Islandman Triathlon (a Tim Kerr Charities event).

Race Director Midge Kerr always appreciates volunteers along the bike course to monitor traffic.  This is a closed course event for the safety of the participants (when you see how fast the riders pass, you will understand!)

Saturday, June 24th between 7:15am and 9:45am. Coverage requested for each block on Avalon and First Avenues along the course.

Volunteers will receive a logo shirt, plus witness a fun event!

Please let me know if you are available to help:  ann.delaney@timkerrsir.com

  • Beach Replenishment Update

As of this morning, the dredging company is actively pumping new sand on the beach at 94th Street, Stone Harbor.

The project will continue south to 104th Street in the coming days/week.  And then all equipment will be removed from the beach.

Fascinating to watch!   Click HERE for video (foggy morning, so not completely clear).

  • Reminder- Comcast Office

Every Memorial Day weekend, seasonal owners and tenants waited in a long line to pick up their Comcast equipment.

Last May, Comcast set up a temporary trailer by the Avalon Community Hall to accommodate local customers after relocating their store to Rio Grande (outside of Wildwood).

For 2017, all business with Comcast must be arranged on line, by phone, or in the Rio Grande store:  1500 Route 47, Suite C12, Rio Grande, NJ 08242  (800) 266-2278.

  • Beach Wildlife

Why, yes… that’s an eagle on the beach!

While we stayed closer to the dunes so as not to startle the bird, a woman walked on to the beach and along side of the jetty with hardly a glance at this unique site.  Maybe she thought it was just a BIG seagull 😉
