  • Seasonal Beach Tags

For property owners (and visitors staying for 2 weeks or more), this is your annual reminder to purchase seasonal beach tags at the pre-season discounted rate.

Tags purchased before June 1st are $23 each; after June 1st, the standard price of $28 applies.

As in past years, the tags allow you to “cross the border” between Avalon and Stone Harbor!

The municipalities also offer weekly ($12) and daily ($6) tags through the summer season.

For more information: Visit Avalon NJ   and  Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce

The weather WILL improve…and businesses and restaurants will continue to re-open for the season!

  • Tuesday Weather

Early sun…then rain…then bright sunshine…then clouds…and more rain.  Typical spring weather!

P.S.  Another heavy downpour and thunder.  Sounds like a summer storm now…

  • Exclusive Beach…for birds!

The piping plovers have it made:  their own private beach from 40th Street to 57th Street in Avalon.

The designated area is along the dune line with posted signs- hopefully the birds understand and appreciate the effort  😉

  • Beachwalker Report

The new sand pumped on to the Stone Harbor beaches is in good shape- even after the quick moving Nor’easter last Tuesday.

In Avalon, the project is set to resume by early next week, adding new sand from 32nd Street and north to 9th Street.

Pictured below: 17th Street in Avalon looking north (on a sunny day last week) ; and 111th Street looking south (today in the rain):

  • I’m Away from my Desk…

Yes,  although we LIVE (and work) in a resort town, I appreciate the opportunity to take a quick vacation break before the busy season.

I will be back on duty at the office on Sunday March 12th!

  • Windy!!

When the sand pelting your jacket sounds like freezing rain, it’s time to re-think the beach walk!
