Bright sunshine and COLD temperatures this morning on the beach.Â
 On almost every beach walk, I find a piece of sea glass. Thinking through the math, that’s over 300 pieces a year (allowing for a few days missed and time away). Is this considered hoarding??Â
I’ve even become particular- passing over those not weathered enough or look too much like a recent bottle of beer!
So if any of you want to start your own collection of Avalon and Stone Harbor sea glass and need a few pieces to get started, I am happy to share 🙂

Where do you find your sea glass at?! I have desperately (for 3 summers in a row) searched and searched and have come up with only 2 pieces and I believe 1 is a recent beer bottle. We usually visit SH several times a summer and even a few times in the Fall/Winter and still I can’t find any. I really would love to start a collection of sea glass that I found on my walks, and not bought at the souvenier shop 😉
Hi. I definitely find more in the off season months- likely because of the rough winter ocean; AND I’m not competing with anyone else searching for sea glass! Look for a cluster of shells adjacent to one of the jetties (there if often a few pieces of glass mixed in with the shells). Along the water’s edge is easier because the sun reflects off the wet glass- so it stands out. With the upcoming beach fill, sea glass hunting will be especially difficult. Take a ride down to the point (parking lot on 123rd Street and walk south on the path). It’s a natural beach (not groomed), so always pretty shells and some sea glass. Good luck!
