The Lure of the Lifeguard Stand

A cumbersome structure made of heavy, painted white lumber.

Designed for practical purposes…certainly, not for comfort.

And yet at 5pm, when the stands are moved back to the soft sand, kids (young and old) gather for their chance to sit on the  seat of honor.
