  • Saturday Night at the Shore

By the time I arrived home from work yesterday, our block was filled with people and cars.

The properties are now occupied by either weekly tenants, or summer home owners and their extended family.

It’s not your imagination- the island is definitely busier than typical for mid-June!

One new observation last night:  with the current restrictions in place, there’s no where for anyone to go.

Every outdoor space was in use-  families playing corn hole on the sidewalk, small groups hanging out on their patio, and dinner/drinks on the sundeck.

Because it’s a “school night” for those of us who work weekends, I often joke “Don’t they know it’s 9pm?”  as I close up the house for an early bedtime 😉

I guess THAT’S why it’s so quiet when we are up and out for our early morning beach walk!!

  • Seven Mile Miles

We have completely covered ALL of the Avalon and Stone Harbor quadrants during our daily “quarantine walks”.

So this morning, we ventured over to Sea Isle City.

Obviously we aren’t the only dedicated walkers looking for a change of scenery- we waived to a fellow Stone Harbor resident on Landis Avenue!

Fascinating to see the different neighborhoods up close, and of course, the awesome water views 😎

  • Walks Around the Island

With the beach off limits, we are now exploring all of the neighborhoods of the island during our daily walks.

Thankfully, as a real estate agent, checking out houses is my favorite pastime!

Today’s walk covered from downtown Avalon, and north to the inlet.  Loved seeing the ocean at the turn around.

  • Easter Sunday

An early morning walk over a deserted bridge to catch the sunrise, while wearing our “Easter” jeans 😉

    Wishing you a peaceful day…

  • January Beach Days

My late Sunday afternoon beach walk views.

It looked like a summer day…well, except for the lack of people, and the Jeep on the sand!

  • Back from Africa

Wow…what a trip!  Every day was a different and unique adventure.

The landscape was expansive, and greener than I expected due to the excessive rain.   And who knew that a brown river could be stunning?

In between safari camps, we drove through small towns and villages- a harsh reality check.  Toddlers and young children enthusiastically waved hello as they played along side of the road.  It was both heartbreaking and joyful.

Locals were happy to share their culture, traditions, and knowledge of the animals with us.  Tourism is important to their economy and they encouraged us to return.

  • I’m Away From My Desk…

We are traveling to a far away land for our next adventure – a trip booked 1 ½ years ago!

The picture below provides a clue on our destination!

I will be returning to the office on Thursday December 12th.

P.S.  Our travels are possible thanks to my loyal customers.  I’m so grateful 😊

  • Weekend Weather!

Ideal weather all weekend.  Clear skies and comfortable beach temperatures during the day.

The perfect way to start the season!

Yesterday, our office was closed, and we were able to enjoy extended time on the beach and lunch at the Windrift 🙂

  • Beach Treasures

I joke that sand dollars “find me”!

So I will share the wealth around Avalon and Stone Harbor for Easter weekend  😎

If you are on the island and find one of the sand dollars, please share a picture on Twitter or post a comment here.

Thanks for joining the scavenger hunt!
