It’s called a “Disney Vacation”…but oh so different than the vacations I help tenants plan here on the island.
Compare:
1) A beach chair and a good book; versus sturdy sneakers and guidebook/ maps.
2) Relaxed schedule and meals on the deck; versus an itinerary with Fast Pass and character meal reservations.
3) Eating sandwiches under the umbrella at the beach; versus the Hoop De Do Review (if you have gone…you will understand!)
We stayed at the Contemporary – which my husband described as “The Borgata for children”. Â Sensory overload!
BUT, boy did we have fun 🙂

Sunday, March 30th is the 16th annual Ocean Drive Marathon. Â
The race starts at 9am in Cape May.
26.2 miles…and 8 bridges later, participants cross the finish line in Sea Isle City.

P.S. There will be road closures in Cape May and Wildwood; and north bound lane restrictions from North Wildwood to Sea Isle City.Â
The snow is melting…and local businesses are starting to re-open for the season.
Quiet afternoon in work, so time for quick walk to check out the snow flurries…and the beach.
Summary: windy, cold, and yes, snowy (visible in the lower picture- against the pine trees). Â Nice views, though 😉
P.S. Glad I walked after lunch. It’s 3:45pm and snowing like crazy!Â

Tis’ the season for newspaper articles and TV news segments regarding summer rentals along the Jersey shore.
Facts for Avalon and Stone Harbor:
1) The full season bookings (Memorial Day to Labor Day) are well ahead of recent years.
2) The weekly rentals are strong, yet there are still plenty of great options available.
3) We often add new inventory this time of year- for example: new owners decide to offer their property for rent.
4) Connecting with a knowledgable local agent is important. Â Web sites are informative, but it’s still best to talk with a live person before booking!

For example: Hoy’s 5 & 10, The Windrift, Jay’s on Third, Marabella’s, Avalon Coffee, and The Concord- all joining the year round establishments and gearing up for a busy summer. Â P.S. the Beach Tag booths (Avalon 30th Street; Stone Harbor 95th Street) now open weekends, too!
Many more will be opening as of Easter week, then Mother’s Day weekend, and of course Memorial Day weekend.
