Spotted this mega sand castle on my morning walk. The beach tractor weaved around the sculpture so it could stay intact.
It must have been built last evening- after the rain.
Better weather today- cloudy early, then sun returns later in the day.

I grew up in the days of colorful shag carpeting- and the required plastic rake to fluff up the rug!
Freshly manicured beach sand provides flashbacks to those years.
I feel bad creating the first set of foot prints- ruining the art work of the early morning groomers.
Within a few hours, the perfect rows will disappear under hundred’s of foot steps…until tomorrow when the tractors return to the sand.
This is how I started my day :)  Out and on the water by 6:30am.
When I finished, the replacement team (surfers) arrived.
Then off to work- showing sale property and a busy rental change over day.
Have a nice weekend!
This week, Tim Kerr and the sales agents of Power Play Realty will distribute $6000 to local organizations helping children in our community.
One percent of all sale commissions funds the charity. We are proud to report a total of $36,609 has been distributed from the Power Play Charity since 2005.

Had a great time on the Ventnor beach yesterday watching the Atlantic City Air Show.
Perfect weather- comfortable temperatures, clear skies, and a nice breeze. And always fun to hang out with family for the day.
It’s no ordinary beach day when fighter jets are flying overhead 😉
Another opportunity for a unique seashore activity: The Brendan Borek Surf Memorial takes place this Saturday, 8/20 (an all day surfing contest held at 30th Street in Avalon). For more information: www.brendansfund.org
Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird… it’s a plane…it’s an F-16 fighter jet??
The annual Atlantic City Air Show takes place this Wednesday, 8/17.  A spectator friendly event : everyone has a front row seat along the beach in Atlantic City and Ventnor. Weather conditions this year should be ideal 🙂

Depending on the wind direction, you may hear the roar as far south as Stone Harbor- and see various planes fly along the coast to and from the show.
Long time Avalon property owners stopped by our office the other day.  A few years back, they sold their home on the bay, and now return on regular basis to visit family… and have recently discovered “the beach”.
The woman asked a question: “What’s up with the giant holes on the beach?” She thought this must be a new trend (remember, they spent all of their family time on the bay).
I assured her it’s a long standing tradition (at least in my family) to dig a hole at the high tide line to keep the kids occupied. The “big boys” bring real shovels to the beach for the excavation work, and take great pride in the engineering details such as steps and retaining walls. If timed correctly, the ocean rushes in and creates a sandy swimming pool just before it’s time to leave 😉
Stormy skies, but only off and on drizzle so far in Avalon and Stone Harbor. Shoppers out in full force… downtown business owners must be happy!
FYI-  This is my 1,000th blog post!  Thanks for reading along 🙂

Oh, Irene
The greatest concern this time of year is preparing properties for the storm. Even heavy duty deck furniture can take flight given the right wind conditions. Trash cans, kayaks, beach chairs, etc. need to be secured.
Watch the weather reports- currently it looks like Saturday night into Sunday for Irene’s arrival. If you need to hire a handyman to secure the outdoor items, I am happy to provide recommendations.
P.S. Well…that was an exciting afternoon. An earthquake in Avalon. I was on the phone with a prospective buyer, so I didn’t want to hang up ;) Felt my office sway back and forth, and watched our light fixtures swing a bit. Crazy. Customers across the street in the Avalon Supermarket and Hoy’s walked out on Dune Drive. Really thought it was a gas line explosion- until I read the reports on Twitter.Â
