Odd weather today- an off and on mix of fog and hazy sun. High humidity, but cool this evening with a sea breeze.

The Borough of Stone Harbor recently completed several practical improvements to the 95th Street public beach area.  The observation deck was rebuilt over the winter. The restroom trailer was relocated for easier access. And a new rinsing station was added just off the walkway (helpful for washing off your feet before walking to Springer’s!)
There’s no question- this is a successful Memorial Day weekend for Avalon and Stone Harbor. Owners and visitors are enjoying great weather, too!
Realistic prices, low interest rates, and ample inventory = a great time to buy.
The ocean has an efficient method of removing both natural and man-made debris.Â

The view from the water’s edge toward the 101st Street pavilion in Stone Harbor has changed…for the better.  The huge, rusty outfall pipe has been removed (along with others in that immediate area). What a difference. The beach looks so much bigger.
Springer’s Ice Cream in Stone Harbor has a sign on their front door- open weekend of May 15th. That gives us a few days to review the list posted outside and select a flavor 😉
Great turn out  for the annual Boat Show/Seafood Festival according to organizers. Local residents, summer home owners, and visitors to the island enjoyed food, music, and checking out the boats and other vendors along 96th Street.Â
Back in business!Â
