A reminder to Avalon and Stone Harbor property owners: there are many cable and phone wires down from the February ice/snow storm. Comcast and Verizon may be waiting to hear from the home owner before making the repairs.

The Borough of Avalon awarded a contract to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company for the planned spring beach fill project. This will be a joint project between Avalon and Sea Isle City. More information in the attached article from the Cape May County Herald.

The new 95th Street ocean side deck is set for summer…will be better once the snow melts!
Also new for this season- Avalon and Stone Harbor combined their annual Chamber of Commerce publications to create the “Seven Mile Beach” 2010 Vacation Guide. Available in local businesses and Chamber offices now.

The Avalon slogan takes on a different meaning this winter. The sign at the park/playground on 74th Street is surrounded by snow.
And in the “are you kidding me?” category- it’s snowing again at the shore. I could see the sun glowing behind the clouds this morning while the wind carried the snow sideways.

The Wawa in Stone Harbor brought in a generator last Sunday so they could serve the locals coffee after the blizzard. They were back on their own power within a day.

Saw more streets with lights last night, but there are sections of Avalon and Stone Harbor still without power. Owners of the Deli and Avalon Supermarket recruited a crew to shovel snow off of the roof today.
Piles of snow in the 29th Street beach parking lot.
I saw a young man using a boogie board as a sled on a similar pile of snow on Pelican Drive!
