With guidence from our local officials, we are once again able to process vacation rental leases for the summer.

Notice from the Mayor of Avalon NJ:
Seasonal rentals may begin as early as Monday, May 11th for individuals who wish to spend the entire summer in one location, to vacation or work for the summer. This schedule is consistent with the advice from health professionals to stay in one domicile. The schedule also allows both transient rentals of less than 30 days, and hotel/motel rentals of a maximum occupancy of 60%, to begin on June 1st, and full motel/hotel occupancy allowable on June 22nd.

I am expecting Stone Harbor to follow similar guidelines. Will post when official.
This quote posted on Twitter from novelist Connie Schultz says it all:
“Today is Wednesday. We are living in a time of dreams deferred, but not extinguished. This is not our forevermore. Let’s take care of ourselves and cheer for one another. And right now, let’s breathe.”
5/7/20- Update – due to the extension of the Governor’s directive, the beach tag booth will not open this weekend. The Mayor of Avalon stated that the preseason discount rate will be extended through the month of June.
The beach tag booth at 30th Street in Avalon (adjacent to the Community Hall) will be open weekends starting this Saturday.
Seasonal tags cost $25 each.

That’s my plan if the rumors of a May 8th opening are true 😎
Beach access will be limited to walking, running, and fishing.
It’s a start!
We have completely covered ALL of the Avalon and Stone Harbor quadrants during our daily “quarantine walks”.
So this morning, we ventured over to Sea Isle City.
Obviously we aren’t the only dedicated walkers looking for a change of scenery- we waived to a fellow Stone Harbor resident on Landis Avenue!
Fascinating to see the different neighborhoods up close, and of course, the awesome water views 😎
I wonder if some of the conveniences offered by local businesses can remain in place after the crisis?
For instance, I returned Comcast equipment the other day on behalf of a property owner- and wow, what an easy process (compared to past experiences).
And how about: take out food delivered to the back of your car, streamlined drop off for car service at the dealership, and CVS mailing prescriptions?
Social distancing guidelines will require changes to the way our office does business, too. And in the process, we hope to make the rental check in routine more efficient.
Change is hard. But change can also help us to improve. That’s the goal.
The seawall in North Wildwood is open for walkers, and provides an unobstructed view of the sunrise…and Stone Harbor in the distance!
Summer 2020
Every summer feels the same…yet different.
Our beach experiences change as our families grow older. The pace differs depending on the ages of our children and grandchildren.
We love the nostalgia of “do you remember when?” conversations-Â especially as we visit our favorite spots.
So how will 2020 line up with our shore memories?
I just don’t know…
So I will try to be patient and grateful, AND take deep breaths along the way.
