Snow Fencing

fenceIt’s odd that we call this “snow fencing”.  Not sure where the name originated, since we rarely have snow on the beach…oh, except for this year  😉

The Borough of Stone Harbor is replacing the damaged fencing along the edge of the sand dunes.

April Summer

AprilsunOur “April summer” is coming to an end.  The dry, hot air has been replaced with our typical damp, salty breeze.

Notice how we call it “wind” in the winter, and a “breeze” in the warmer months??

Still sunny and comfortable…no complaints!

Surf Fishing

This was brought to my attention by a local property owner who likes to fish:  https://www.countmyfish.noaa.gov/register/anglerForm.jsp
Registration is required (no fee for now) for salt water fishing in New Jersey (as well as other states).

Will the average vacationer casting off the jetty or shore line know about this?

A Seashore Easter

bridgeAprilThe fog lifted just in time for a beautiful Sunday morning.

Church bells echoed off of the calm bay.  Very peaceful…

Mid-tide allowed me to take a “short cut” on my kayak to a nearby basin.  Shhh, don’t tell   😉

Kayaking Tour

MSHad company for kayaking today.  My nephew and I were a bit chilly, so thankfully we both stayed dry!

Great weather (although the sea breeze is keeping temperatures cool) and the island is busy.  Should be a perfect spring weekend.  Enjoy!
