As noted in my Tuesday, 3/16 post, the Borough of Avalon  started an emergency dune restoration project between 17th and 22nd Streets. 30,000 cubic yards of sand will be trucked in for this project. More information is available on the Borough web site:

Truth in advertising- I took this picture mid-day on Tuesday, 3/16. Thankfully, our weather continues to be picture perfect.
Enjoy the weekend!
Yep. Time to launch the boat.  A few weeks ago we were shoveling snow!

The secret to early and late season kayaking is to limit contact with the water (ha, ha). It’s COLD! Therefore, I stay close to the docks just in case.

And sometimes, close to a bridge 🙂

No birdwatching today- other than plastic owls on the pilings to scare off (?) other birds.  A bit freaky.

A beautiful day to hang out on the bay for an hour or so.  Life is good!
Weekend at the shore:  Uncle Bill’s Pancake House in Stone Harbor re-opened this morning for the season (Avalon stays open year round); for dinner and drinks, both the Concord Cafe and Windrift in Avalon will unlock their doors after a long winter’s nap.
And of course, you MUST take advantage of this incredible weather and extra hour of day light with a walk on the beach 🙂
The spring bulbs are popping up all over our small yard.  And the warm weather is expected to last through the official first day of spring on Saturday.
We are looking forward to a busy (finally) weekend at the shore!
In 2008, we traveled through Northern Ireland.  This restaurant with a familiar name was in Belfast (a very clean and sophisticated city, by the way).

Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland…an amazing natural wonder that requires sensible shoes!
A good excuse to post  travel photos…
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
General office computer maintenance and virus scans today created a few hours of downtime. Fortunately, I planned ahead with proper attire and footwear 😉

One of the many perks of living and working at the shore! It was a perfect afternoon break.

Walking north on the beach in Avalon, I could not continue beyond 22nd Street.  Borough workers were on site making emergency dune repairs until the major beach fill project in May.
A good day to think about summer in Avalon and Stone Harbor.
Weekly and full season rentals available in all shapes and sizes…beach to bay.
Send me your “wish list” and I will e-mail you a list of options: Â ann@anndelaney.com
Thank you for the opportunity to help with your seashore vacation 🙂
Sunday Sights
The author of the blog: http://wildwoodweather.blogspot.com/  calls this “San Francisco weather” – so true. The cool mist over the water drops air temperatures as much as 10 degrees.
