As of this morning, new sand is being pumped on to Nuns’ Beach (111th through 113th Streets).
The dredging company is working around the clock, and will continue to move north along the Stone Harbor beach.
Fascinating to watch the process from one of the nearby beach paths!
Another picture perfect day for a beach walk! Â Check out the practical “parking lot” for bikes and strollers along the 44th Street dune path 🙂
Starting to see “opening soon” signs on the doors of island businesses- that’s encouraging.
In the meantime, Uncle Bill’s in Avalon is closed for a few weeks for renovations. Â Will have to find another go to spot for Friday breakfast!
I’m finally back to my early morning beach walks…progress!

South Jersey Gas has announced a work schedule for locations in Stone Harbor NJ:
Installation of 2†and 4†yellow plastic natural gas mains will take place along Berkley Road, Sunset Drive, Corinthian Drive, Sunrise Drive, Weber Court, 111th Avenue, 110th Avenue, 109th Avenue, 108th Avenue, 107th Avenue, 106th Avenue, 105th Avenue, 104th Avenue, 103rd Avenue, 102nd Avenue, 101st Avenue, 100th Avenue, 99th Avenue, and 98th Avenue. Work on Berkley Road, Sunset Drive, Corinthian Drive, Sunrise Drive, and 99th Avenue will be completed first, followed by the side streets.
