Vacation Rentals

For some reason, the rental activity has slowed down considerably.  Agents in other offices report the same issue.

If you know anyone thinking about a vacation on the island, please encourage them to contact me.

It’s not too late to find a wonderful home or condominium in July or August.

Thank you for spreading the news!

Summer!

The island seems especially busy for an early June weekend.  Hello summer!

Bay Front Living

I often multi-task by combining a walk with a work errand.  This morning, I wanted to check on a property on the bay with closing  scheduled for 9am.

Peaceful water views  as I crossed the bridge at 104th Street.

In case you are curious…this is what $3,575,000 looks like on the bay in Stone Harbor!   The home was demolished to make way for the buyer’s new construction. An oversized 90′ X 100′ lot with 4 boat slips.

Dogs on the Beach

dogIn Avalon, leashed dogs are permitted on the beach only in the off season- September 30th through March 1st.  In season, dogs are not permitted on the beach.

Stone Harbor offers more options- dog walking is permitted on all beaches between 80th and 122nd Street from 7pm to sunset in season.  Off season (mid-September to mid-May) leashed dogs are permitted any time of the day.  The Stone Harbor Point Conservation area (south of 122nd Street) is off limits to dogs year round.

That said…

I walk on the beach every day year round, and there are often as many dogs as people 🙂

Over Memorial Day weekend, I was jumped on by an overzealous Doodle, and then decided to walk off the beach after spotting an unleashed Doberman!

I am happy to share the sand with your family pet, but PLEASE keep them on a leash.

Weekend Weather!

Ideal weather all weekend.  Clear skies and comfortable beach temperatures during the day.

The perfect way to start the season!

Yesterday, our office was closed, and we were able to enjoy extended time on the beach and lunch at the Windrift 🙂

2019 Beach Tags

Reminder to purchase your seasonal beach tags for Avalon and Stone Harbor NJ.

Tags are $23 each and allow you to “cross the border” between the two towns!  Purchase before the end of May for the pre-season price.

Although most of my beach time is before or after the tag checker hours, I am happy to contribute to the protection and maintenance of our beautiful shore line.

Money well spent!

Preparing For Your Summer Guests

I work best with a detailed check list 🙂

Tips to prepare your home for summer:

1) Turn on all outside water (shower, hose connections on decks, etc)

2) Clean the outside shower and toss old soap and shampoo.

3) Wash all mattress pads and bed pillows (replace those with stains).

4) Empty kitchen cabinets and drawers to wash everything and organize. Toss broken/rusted items.

5) Replace area rugs and door mats as needed.

6) Clean grill. Replace grates (or the grill) if rusty.

7) Scrub outdoor furniture and cushions.

Then take a nice long walk on the beach!
