Peace…

As an avid traveler, the attacks in Brussels (and elsewhere) break my heart.

I will never understand the hatred that consumes those carrying out terroristic attacks.

The innocent people killed and injured are just like us: moms, dads, business people, tourists, students…all going about their day.

For me, traveling has reinforced the similarities rather than the differences.  We are connected by our life experience. And people are generally kind and good.

Wishing for peace…

Irish Roots

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

20160317_130713_resized_3On my father’s side: my grandmother was born in County Clare in the Republic of Ireland, and my grandfather grew up near Ballymena and the Antrim Coast in Northern Ireland.  A real mixed marriage!

They met and married in Philadelphia, and vacationed in Stone Harbor each summer while raising 6 children (pictured in front of their rental cottage).  In the 1950s, my grandparents built a year round home in Avalon.  A family business brought the sons and daughters (some with spouses and young children) from Philadelphia to Avalon shortly thereafter.

After visiting the beautiful windswept coast of Northern Ireland, I can totally understand my grandfather’s love of the shore.

Sand in our shoes… and salt air in our lungs 😉

Sláinte!

Pictures from our 2008 trip to Northern Ireland.

Counting Down to Spring

Plumbers are turning on the water for property owners, business owners are on site preparing for opening day, and I just ordered my beach tags.  It MUST be spring 🙂

Email issues

My email accounts went rogue – and even created some messages in Spanish!

Passwords have been changed and all back to normal.

Technology is amazing…when it works properly!

The extension project for the Avalon Fishing Pier continues.  The pier previously ended just past the buildings.

Seller’s Market

salesignYes, you read that right!

After years of bumping along with a steady market, sellers are benefiting from strong buyer interest, and sometimes even multiple offers.

Buyers are savvy, and recognize a well priced sale listing.

If you are thinking about selling (maybe it’s time to move up??) please give me call to discuss values.

Spring at the Shore

The 70 degree temperatures forecasted this week are not likely for locations close to the ocean.

That wonderful sea breeze we appreciate all summer long often makes for cool spring weather.

If you are riding down and planning a walk on the beach…bring an extra layer to block the chilly air!
